Assignments

In all assignments: 

Instructions: 

a) make a summary of the text using your own words,

b) make a comment using other reading materials provided in the Lecture Notes section of this website or other sources including the internet;

c) complete a 2 page long, computer-typewritten, double-spaced, justified essay using Times New Roman or Garamond size 12 fonts or Calibri or Arial size 11 fonts. 

d) either deliver your essay in person or e-mail it to karadeli@cankaya.edu.tr before the end of the deadline.

I) Plato and Thought in Antiquity

Please read the chapter on Plato from the following book (pp. 38-60 which turn to pages 52-73 if you place the page numbers on the Adobe Reader "go to page" boxes).  After reading the text, please use the instructions above to prepare your essay and to deliver it.

 IV) FINAL EXAM: Late 20th Century

Please read the following article which evaluates the ideas of Francis Ford Fukuyama (the End of History) and Samuel P. Huntington (the Clash of Civilizations) and evaluate it according to the instructions above. Read just the article without taking into account its cover page (page 1 of the PDF file).
